Executive Director

Edwin Barnes, Jr. serves as Executive Director of the Foundation.  As Executive Director, Edwin reports to the Foundation's board chaired by Jon Brownfield, Sr.  Other board members are Jeff LeForce, Randy Graham, Sue McCauley, Sig Huitt, John Gabrenas, Kristen Davis Rhyne, Brent Martin and Lee Gardner.  Shelton Sanford and Sheldon MacGillivray serve as ex-officio board members.

Edwin and his wife, Wallace, live in Charlotte with their three children, Edwin, III (9 years old), Anna (7 years old) and Milling (4 years old).  They are members of Uptown Christ Covenant Church (PCA) in Charlotte where they serve in various capacities.  Edwin is a former member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, where he served as a deacon and in other capacities.  He is also a graduate of Westminster Catawba Christian School and a former member of the board of Westminster Towers.  Both Edwin and Wallace grew up in Rock Hill.

Edwin's background is in finance and law, most recently practicing with Kennedy Covington Lobdell & Hickman in Charlotte.  He is a graduate of Washington & Lee University and the University of South Carolina School of Law.  He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
